Sharing, exporting and restoring are different jobs
| Your goal | What you need |
|---|---|
| Let someone read one note | Text or image sharing |
| Read and work with notes in another tool | Readable text, pictures and relevant metadata |
| Restore the app's full state | A supported restore mechanism |
An export button does not guarantee that every app setting and relationship can be restored. Check the goal you care about before relying on it.
Keep the text and pictures usable on their own
Markdown is text with simple markers for things such as headings and lists. You can still read the words in a text editor, although formatting varies between tools.
Ordinary image files keep your photos out of an app-only format. Tags and folder relationships need extra information, and another tool may not interpret that structure in the same way.
What Noppima exports
Open Data export from Noppima's station and export all content. The system lets you choose where to save the ZIP. Inbox and Library records are included as Markdown, with ordinary image files and JSON for organization and metadata.
The export contains current active content, not the trash or temporary drafts. It is an open, unencrypted copy, not a restore package for the current app. Widget positions, permission states and caches are not a restorable part of it.
Check the copy before you need it
- Make sure the file was actually saved, rather than only opening the save picker.
- Unzip it and choose a short record, a long one and one with a picture.
- Open the text and check the title, lists and reflections; open the corresponding image too.
- Keep the copy somewhere you intend to maintain. You also control access to any personal content in those open files.
A checked, readable export has a different purpose from the record inside the app. Automatic backup, device sync and one-tap restoration still need their own supported workflow.
Yours to keep, and yours to take with you.
